Scientific Content Director

Job Summary

Leading the development of compelling scientific narratives, the full-time salaried Scientific Content Associate Director will collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to translate complex research into engaging content, while also mentoring a team of scientific writers and shaping the institution's content strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with scientists to uncover and communicate groundbreaking discoveries and develop strategic messaging
• Lead the scientific content strategy and guide editorial planning to maximize impact across various platforms
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of scientific writers, fostering excellence in communication and storytelling

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, genetics, biomedical sciences, life sciences, communications, or a related field; Ph.D. is a plus
• 6+ years of experience creating scientific content for diverse audiences, including donors and policymakers
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to simplify complex science
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Experience in biomedical research, healthcare, or a mission-driven research organization preferred
