Scientific Programmer

Job Summary

To support ongoing growth and expansion, the full-time Scientific Programmer will focus on data analysis, software development using Python, and working with geospatial applications while operating in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis and GIS tasks
• Develop software and implement debugging principles, continuous integration testing, and automated documentation
• Utilize geospatial applications and manage databases and queries in PostgreSQL

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Marine Science, Engineering, Biology, Oceanography, or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant experience in software development and geospatial data systems
• Proficiency in Python and experience with integrated development environments
• Knowledge of version control best practices and experience with Git
• Experience with container-based software development platforms, such as Docker
