Scientific Programmer

Job Summary

To support the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information's Data Stewardship Division, the full-time remote Scientific Programmer will drive infrastructure modernization, maintain system performance, and develop scalable solutions using serverless technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the transition of legacy systems to modern architectures
• Proactively monitor and maintain aging infrastructure for high availability
• Design and implement scalable solutions with serverless technologies and backend scripting

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in a relevant field
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation and data processing
• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architecture
• Strong understanding of React and TypeScript for front-end management
• Advanced knowledge of Git and GitLab CI/CD workflows
