Job Summary

On-site in San Diego, CA, the Scientist I will design and clone expression vectors and IVT donor plasmids, execute DNA and mRNA transfections in cell lines, and assess nucleic acid expression through molecular methods during a 6-month assignment with potential for extension or conversion.

Key responsibilities

• Design and clone expression vectors and IVT donor plasmids to support research initiatives
• Execute DNA and mRNA transfections in mouse and human cell lines
• Assess nucleic acid expression using molecular methods such as qPCR, reporter assays, and Western blotting

Required qualifications

• B.S. with 5+ years or M.S. with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Strong molecular biology background
• Experience with advanced cloning techniques
• Preferred experience with Snapgene
• Preferred experience in genetic manipulation of cell lines and primary cells
