Search Engineer

Job Summary

Search Engineer, a full-time position focused on modernizing and optimizing the search experience using AI and information retrieval techniques, collaborating with various teams to enhance user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and improve retrieval relevance systems and build learning-to-rank, personalization, and recommendation systems
• Develop scalable APIs and retrieval services to integrate custom ML models for enhanced search experiences
• Perform offline analysis and run production A/B experiments to evaluate changes to the search experience

Required Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills with experience in Python and distributed data/search platforms
• 5+ years of experience with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch-based search platforms
• Familiarity with search relevance metrics and experimentation frameworks
• Experience with observability and search infrastructure tooling
• Ability to mentor team members and a strong test-and-learn mindset
