Job Summary

To support bison and climate policy efforts in Yellowstone National Park, the full-time Seasonal Bison and Climate Research Assistant will conduct policy analysis, engage with Indigenous organizations, and facilitate meetings, all while working remotely for a three-month term.

Key responsibilities
  • Identify policy opportunities to enhance tribal engagement and support climate initiatives
  • Facilitate gatherings with partner organizations focused on Indigenous representation in resource management
  • Assist in the development of policy alternatives for the Yellowstone Bison Management Plan
Required qualifications
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, including prior involvement with NPCA as a Western Indigenous Fellow
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Tribal Historic Preservation, Tribal Governance, or related fields
  • Demonstrated interest in cultural and natural resource protection and the National Park Service
  • Strong commitment to working collaboratively with diverse communities and organizations
  • Basic proficiency with MS Word and Outlook, along with the ability to travel as needed
