Seasonal Senior Underwriter

Job Summary

To support the health insurance division, the part-time Seasonal Senior Underwriter will analyze and assess risks for new business quotes and existing renewals while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction, working remotely during the seasonal timeline from August 2026 to January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and assess risks for new business proposals and existing group renewals to meet corporate objectives
• Provide technical advice and support to less experienced underwriters throughout the underwriting process
• Negotiate health insurance rates and benefits with sales teams and external brokers to support account retention and acquisition

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
• 5 or more years of experience in health insurance underwriting
• Strong knowledge of group rating methodologies and funding arrangements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting/pricing tools
• Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills
