Section 508 Compliance Specialist
Job Summary
To support the Office of Informatics within the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, the part-time Section 508 Compliance Specialist will manage accessibility compliance for IT systems and digital content, ensuring alignment with federal standards while primarily working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Section 508 accessibility compliance activities for various ICT deliverables
- Conduct comprehensive accessibility assessments and compliance evaluations using automated tools and manual techniques
- Provide subject matter expertise and training on Section 508 requirements and WCAG standards to stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a relevant field
- Five years of hands-on experience in Section 508 compliance and digital accessibility
- Demonstrated expertise in WCAG standards and developing ACR/VPAT documentation
- Required Public Trust clearance
- Experience with accessibility testing tools and federal accessibility programs is preferred
