Section 508 Compliance Specialist

Job Summary

To support the Department of Veterans Affairs' training initiative, the full-time remote Section 508 Compliance Specialist will ensure all training products and deliverables comply with Section 508 accessibility requirements by collaborating with curriculum development teams and conducting thorough accessibility evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the project's Section 508 compliance strategy, standards, and quality-control processes
• Conduct accessibility testing of all deliverables and coordinate remediation efforts prior to submission to the VA
• Serve as the primary point of contact for accessibility matters, collaborating with VA stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience in Section 508 compliance and digital accessibility testing
• Demonstrated knowledge of Section 508 requirements and federal digital accessibility standards
• Experience using automated and manual accessibility testing tools across various content formats
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative, and deadline-driven environment
