Section 508 Test Engineer
Job Summary
To ensure USDA digital products meet federal accessibility requirements, the full-time Section 508 Test Engineer will perform functional QA and specialized accessibility testing across various platforms, collaborating remotely with Product Owners, Developers, and Designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA testing using DHS Trusted Tester methodology and various accessibility tools
- Develop test plans, accessibility scripts, and validate API integrations while documenting findings and compliance status
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed accessibility into design and testing processes, providing leadership to junior QA analysts
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in complex, multi-tier applications
- 2+ years focused on accessibility/Section 508 compliance testing
- Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.2, Section 508 Refresh, and DHS Trusted Tester processes
- Hands-on experience testing web, mobile, and integrated systems
- Proficiency with accessibility tools such as ANDI, Axe, WAVE, JAWS, and NVDA
