Security Control Assessor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Sr. Security Control Assessor to support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in conducting security assessments and ensuring compliance with federal security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security control assessments following NIST SP 800-53 and RMF guidelines
• Develop and execute Security Assessment Plans (SAPs) and document findings in Security Assessment Reports (SARs)
• Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes and coordinate with stakeholders throughout the assessment lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in information security or security control assessment
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-53 controls
• Experience with federal security authorization processes (ATO, SA&A)
• Public Trust clearance required
