Security Engineer

Job Summary

Leveraging the Microsoft security stack, the full-time remote Security Engineer will triage alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and enhance the organization's security posture through vulnerability management and identity access controls.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Microsoft Sentinel, participating in full-lifecycle incident response
• Conduct enterprise vulnerability scanning and coordinate remediation efforts across teams to ensure secure configurations
• Support the implementation and maintenance of identity controls, partnering with various teams to improve security standards

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or security engineering
• Proven experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and SIEM platforms like Microsoft Sentinel
• Strong familiarity with Azure or other major cloud platforms, along with scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or KQL)
• Demonstrated track record of conducting security investigations and incident response activities
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, with at least one relevant certification preferred
