Job Summary
To support a federal data engineering team, the remote Security Engineer/ISSO Support will serve as the security and privacy authority, ensuring compliance with federal security requirements and implementing Zero Trust Architecture while managing security assessment and authorization activities.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for security assessment and authorization, completing the ATO process and supporting the federal Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Implement and maintain Zero Trust Architecture across the platform, ensuring security controls are integrated at every layer of the technology stack
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards and conduct security scans, documenting findings and integrating security tools into the CI/CD pipeline
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in federal information security with demonstrated ISSO or ATO leadership experience
- Deep knowledge of FISMA, NIST 800-53, and the federal ATO/SDLC process
- Hands-on experience with Zero Trust Architecture on AWS and familiarity with AWS security services
- Experience with OWASP ZAP, SAST/DAST tooling, and conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
