Security Operations Analyst

Job Summary

To protect critical infrastructure and customer data, the remote Tier 1 Security Operations Analyst will monitor security consoles, triage potential threats, and collaborate with various teams to ensure the integrity of the organization's information security program.

Key responsibilities

• Actively monitor SIEM and EDR dashboards to detect and analyze anomalous activities and potential intrusions
• Triage incoming security alerts, escalating critical threats and documenting remediation efforts in the enterprise ticketing system
• Assist in phishing analysis and security awareness training initiatives to enhance organizational security posture

Required qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional experience in security operations or a relevant college degree or cybersecurity bootcamp completion
• 3-5 years of experience in Information Security, Information Technology, or Risk Management may be accepted
• Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, ISC2 CISSP, or GIAC credentials
• Foundational understanding of TCP/IP stack and network traffic analysis
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
