Security Operations Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a contract basis, the Security Operations Engineer will deploy and tailor security instances, monitor systems for intrusions, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance detection capabilities and remediate vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement monitoring strategies, response plans, and optimize security tools
• Use threat intelligence to hunt active and dormant threats, perform forensics, and deliver post-incident reports
• Embed best practices into the software development lifecycle, building automated evaluation pipelines for secure code deployment

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, or security protocols
• 5 years of experience with security assessments, design reviews, threat modeling, or vulnerability research
• 1 year of experience leading teams or projects in a technical capacity
• 5 years of coding experience in languages such as Python, Go, C++, or Java
