Security Software Engineer II

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Security Software Engineer II, the role focuses on building and implementing detection and response improvements to safeguard against security threats, with the flexibility to work remotely and occasional in-office collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Build alerts and automation workflows to enhance detection and response capabilities for security threats
• Manage logging pipelines and onboard new logging sources to improve detection coverage
• Respond to alerts and incidents as part of an on-call rotation while collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of intrusion detection and incident response in a modern cloud-first environment
• Hands-on experience with writing SIEM queries for alerting and threat hunting
• Familiarity with multiple telemetry sources for threat investigations, such as EDR and firewall logs
• Scripting or automation experience in languages like Python, Go, or Ruby for tool development
