Security Systems Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Security Systems Engineer (Linux) who has experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, harden, and support Linux-based systems within a SOC environment
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to security-related system events
• Support and maintain VMware-based virtual infrastructure

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator in a SOC environment
• Heavy, hands-on experience working at the Linux command line (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar)
• Strong understanding of system security, access controls, logging, and monitoring concepts
• Experience working with VMware virtualization technologies in production environments
• Hands-on experience making and supporting API calls (REST, JSON, authentication methods)
