Senior Accountant

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Accountant III to manage complex accounting activities and provide guidance to less-experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and update accounting policies and procedures based on business changes
• Prepare complex accounting analyses, journal entries, and financial statements
• Enhance internal controls over financial reporting and provide functional advice to junior accountants

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in business with at least 3 accounting courses and 5 years of accounting experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of related experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, MBA, or other advanced business degree
• Preferred: CPA or CMA certification
• Experience in utility accounting, public accounting, and SEC reporting, with knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
