Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Supporting a non-profit organization remotely, the contract-to-permanent Senior Accountant will manage core financial activities, provide analysis, and strengthen day-to-day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring financial records are complete and accurate
• Direct daily accounting activities, including payables, receivables, and payroll-related reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist in budget development and cash flow evaluations

Required qualifications

• Prior experience in a senior-level accounting role with month-end close and general ledger oversight
• Strong working knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Background in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis, preferably in a non-profit setting
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel
• Experience in grant accounting and compliance oversight
