Senior Accountant
Job Summary
To support a mission-driven company focused on reducing food waste, the full-time Senior Accountant will manage the month-end close process, maintain accurate financial records in NetSuite, and drive process improvements while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prepare monthly sales tax filings and support annual audit and tax filing requests
- Lead process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for automation in accounting workflows
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of accounting experience with a foundation in financial reporting
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE) and/or US GAAP/IFRS
- Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience with US and Canadian sales tax filing preferred; CPA is a plus
- A process improvement mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
