Senior Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

Owning the accounting relationship for a portfolio of complex clients, the remote Senior Accounting Specialist will manage month-end close, lead client communications, and mentor junior staff while applying advanced accounting principles.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close and financial reporting using QuickBooks Online and proprietary systems
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, leading calls and resolving escalations
• Review the work of junior Accounting Specialists and provide constructive feedback

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of small business or firm-based accounting experience
• Experience in reviewing or overseeing the work of other accountants
• Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles
• Experience with job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting
