Senior AI Application Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior AI Application Engineer will design, develop, and implement enterprise AI solutions remotely, focusing on AI-assisted search and summarization capabilities using advanced technologies such as Large Language Models and Amazon Bedrock.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement enterprise AI applications utilizing Large Language Models and Retrieval-Augmented Generation
• Develop AI-assisted search and summarization capabilities while ensuring compliance with Federal security and privacy requirements
• Integrate AI capabilities into existing healthcare applications and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the software development lifecycle

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience developing enterprise software applications, with 5+ years in cloud-native development utilizing AWS or comparable platforms
• Demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI solutions
• Experience with Amazon Bedrock or similar enterprise AI platforms and developing enterprise REST APIs
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#
