Senior AI Governance Engineer

Job Summary

Leading governance, risk, and compliance initiatives for AI at Vanta, the full-time Senior AI Governance Engineer will manage internal AI governance programs, collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable AI guardrails, and promote responsible AI usage across the organization in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Drive Vanta's internal AI governance programs and evaluate new frameworks for adoption
• Lead the Hardening Enterprise AI Team in researching and implementing compliant AI guardrails
• Champion sustainable AI usage and share best practices to foster responsible adoption across the company

Required qualifications

• Strong experience using AI agents and tools, particularly with Anthropic, OpenAI, LangChain, or Cursor
• Proficiency in coding and web APIs for workflow automation, especially with TypeScript, Go, or Python
• Expertise in AI governance and compliance frameworks, such as ISO 42001 and NIST AI RMF
• Experience with compliance programs like SOC 2 and GDPR
• Demonstrated ability to apply GRC Engineering principles and values in practice
