Job Summary
To support the revenue cycle team, the full-time Senior Ambulatory Surgery Coder will assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient and inpatient encounters while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for various medical encounters
- Review coding claim edits and denials, processing appeals according to guidelines
- Participate in the Coding Training Program to enhance coding knowledge and skills
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years of experience, or an Associate's degree with 1 year of experience, or a Diploma/Certification in Coding with 1 year of experience
- Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC approved coding program is preferred
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT/HCPCS coding principles
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Ability to use standard desktop and windows-based computer systems
