Senior Amharic Linguistic Tester
Job Summary
To support software localization efforts, the freelance Senior Amharic Linguistic Tester will conduct linguistic QA on Amharic software applications and AI models, ensuring cultural appropriateness and adherence to localization standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Execute rigorous linguistic QA on localized Amharic software interfaces and AI-generated content
- Identify, log, and regress linguistic errors and visual layout issues using standard issue-tracking workflows
- Ensure compliance with project glossaries, style guides, and brand-specific localization standards
Required qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Linguistic QA, software localization testing, or professional translation (English to Amharic)
- Native fluency in Amharic with strong command of grammar and professional-level written English skills
- Active access to a Mac computer with an Apple Silicon M-series chip (M1, M2, M3, M4, or newer)
- Proven ability to differentiate between critical linguistic bugs and cosmetic layout defects
- Strong understanding of modern Ethiopian cultural nuances and localized language trends
