Senior Analytics Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the dbt modeling layer and semantic layer, the full-time Senior Analytics Engineer will enhance and stabilize the existing dbt project, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of governed reporting and AI-native analytics in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and improve the dbt project structure, conventions, and performance for effective data modeling
• Define and govern business metrics in the semantic layer, ensuring clarity and accessibility for BI users
• Utilize Python for validation, automation, and data quality checks while overseeing production operations of the transformation layer

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of analytics engineering experience for Senior level; 6+ years for Staff level
• Deep experience with dbt as production software, including structure, macros, and CI/CD
• Strong fundamentals in dimensional and event-based modeling, including star schemas and grain discipline
• Proficiency in Python for production analytics tasks, including API pulls and data quality checks
• Working knowledge of orchestration processes, including DAGs and incremental processing
