Senior API Gateway Engineer
Job Summary
To lead the design and modernization of enterprise integration platforms, the remote contract Senior API Gateway, Security & Platform Engineer will manage API gateway services, implement security measures, and support high-volume applications using .NET Core and various API gateway technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise API Gateway solutions, implementing routing rules and security protocols
- Lead the development of cloud-native solutions and manage Azure services, ensuring operational excellence
- Serve as a technical lead during production incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of software engineering experience
- 5+ years of experience with .NET Core / ASP.NET Core
- Strong experience with YARP, Ocelot, or similar API Gateway technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and API security protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT)
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and experience managing secure enterprise integrations
