Senior Application Engineer

Job Summary

To support innovative software solutions, the remote contract Senior Application Engineer will design, develop, and optimize applications while collaborating with technical teams and end-users to enhance user experiences and meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyze existing applications, identifying required changes for integration with downstream systems
• Design and implement high-quality software applications using advanced programming languages and frameworks, ensuring adherence to best practices
• Lead small projects, conduct code reviews, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and successful project outcomes

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in application or software development engineering
• Advanced proficiency in software development principles and the SAFe/Agile methodology
• Expertise in mainframe programming languages and tools, including JCL, COBOL, and DB2 on z/OS
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in software testing and quality assurance
