Senior Application Engineer
Job Summary
To support innovative software solutions, the remote contract Senior Application Engineer will design, develop, and optimize applications while collaborating with technical teams and end-users to enhance user experiences and meet business needs.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyze existing applications, identifying necessary changes for integration with downstream systems
- Design and implement high-quality software applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standards
- Lead small projects, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in application or software development engineering
- Advanced proficiency in mainframe programming languages and tools such as JCL, COBOL, and DB2
- Deep understanding of database structures and web technologies for scalable solution design
- Experience with the SAFe/Agile methodology and version control systems
