Senior Application Engineer
Job Summary
To support software development initiatives, the remote contract Senior Application Engineer will design, develop, and optimize high-quality applications while collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to address business needs and enhance user experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Research existing applications and identify required changes for integration with downstream systems
- Design and implement technical solutions, ensuring quality testing and resolution of identified bugs
- Write clean, scalable code and conduct code reviews while leading small projects and initiatives
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in application or software development engineering
- Expertise in mainframe programming languages such as JCL, COBOL, and DB2 on z/OS
- Advanced proficiency in software development principles and the SAFe/Agile methodology
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with experience in software testing and quality assurance
