Senior Application Engineer

Job Summary

To support innovative software solutions, the contract Senior Application Engineer will design, develop, and optimize applications remotely, leveraging the full software development lifecycle to enhance user experiences and meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Research and analyze existing applications, identifying required changes for integration with downstream systems
• Design and implement high-quality software applications while collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure timely project completion
• Lead small projects, conduct code reviews, and contribute to the development of engineering policies and standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in application or software development engineering
• Advanced proficiency in mainframe programming languages such as JCL, COBOL, and DB2
• Deep understanding of database structures and web technologies for scalable solution design
• Experience in software testing and quality assurance, optimizing code for performance and maintainability
