Senior Application Engineer
Job Summary
To support innovative software solutions, the contract Senior Application Engineer will design, develop, and optimize applications remotely, leveraging the full software development lifecycle while collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyze existing applications, identifying required changes for integration with downstream systems
- Design and develop high-quality software applications, ensuring adherence to best practices and organizational standards
- Lead small projects, conduct code reviews, and foster collaboration among team members to drive continuous improvement
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in application or software development engineering
- Expertise in mainframe programming languages such as JCL, COBOL, and DB2 on z/OS
- Advanced proficiency in software development principles and the SAFe/Agile methodology
- Strong understanding of database structures and web technologies for scalable solution design
