Senior Application Engineer

Job Summary

To contribute to the development and expansion of Ascender Pro and other internal application projects, the remote Senior Application Engineer will take ownership of engineering work across both frontend and backend systems, focusing on building and shipping features using Python and React/TypeScript.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain application features utilizing Python for backend and React/TypeScript for frontend development
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ship production-quality code quickly and participate in architecture decisions
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack while supporting other internal engineering initiatives as needed

Required qualifications

• 6-8+ years of professional software development experience with a strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and NPM
• Experience with or willingness to work in Go
• Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools with critical thinking skills to validate AI output
• Comfort working across the full stack with an emphasis on backend systems
