Senior Application Security Engineer
Job Summary
To enhance application security practices, the full-time Senior Application Security Engineer will embed security into the SDLC, perform security assessments, and manage remediation efforts while working remotely from designated locations in Texas, Illinois, or Colorado.
Key responsibilities
- Embed application security into the SDLC by defining processes, standards, and workflows for delivery teams
- Conduct security assessments of applications, APIs, and cloud workloads, managing findings and driving remediation
- Develop security metrics and executive dashboards to provide visibility into remediation status and security posture trends
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience in application security and DevSecOps
- Strong understanding of Secure SDLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies
- Experience with security tooling such as Burp Suite, GitHub Advanced Security, and SAST
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, API Security Top 10, and secure coding principles
