Senior Application Security Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing DevSecOps initiative, the contract Senior Application Security Engineer will embed application security into the SDLC, perform security assessments, and manage remediation efforts while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Embed application security into the SDLC by defining and improving security processes and workflows
- Conduct AI-assisted and traditional security assessments of applications, APIs, and cloud workloads
- Drive remediation efforts from discovery through closure, reducing security debt and vulnerabilities
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5-7 years of hands-on application security and DevSecOps experience
- Strong understanding of Secure SDLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies
- Experience with security tooling such as Burp Suite, GitHub Advanced Security, and SAST
- Familiarity with OWASP Top 10, API Security Top 10, and secure coding principles
