Senior Applied Scientist NLP

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Applied Scientist, Search & Information Retrieval.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy large-scale information retrieval systems focusing on search performance and latency optimization
• Own end-to-end model development, including research, data engineering, evaluation, and production deployment
• Translate business and customer objectives into technical requirements and collaborate with engineering on software delivery

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, AI, NLP, Information Retrieval, or a related field, or a Master's with equivalent industry experience
• 5+ years of post-degree industry experience in building and deploying IR and NLP systems in production
• Publications at recognized conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, or SIGIR
• Hands-on experience with production Python, PyTorch, and Hugging Face Transformers
• Experience in large-scale information retrieval system design and search evaluation methodology
