Senior Architect

Job Summary

As the lead technical authority, the remote Senior Architect will define, govern, and evolve the architecture for a mission-critical enterprise platform within the Department of Veterans Affairs, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with Federal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise system architecture across platform services and healthcare applications, enforcing architectural standards and governance processes
• Develop and evolve system architecture, including integration patterns and technical standards for cloud-native architectures and microservices
• Oversee system interoperability and data exchange, ensuring secure and efficient integration with internal and external healthcare systems

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in enterprise architecture, particularly within healthcare or government sectors
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native platforms, microservices, and containerized environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaaS) automation and low-code/no-code platform integrations
• Familiarity with Agile and SAFe methodologies for software development
• Ability to communicate architectural direction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
