Senior Architect (Federal Public Trust)

Job Summary

To shape the architectural future of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) enterprise cloud platform, the full-time remote Senior Architect (Federal Public Trust) will define, govern, and evolve technical architecture for complex cloud-native environments while ensuring alignment with VA Enterprise Architecture guidelines and security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and govern system and platform architecture, ensuring compliance with VA guidelines and technical standards
• Lead architecture reviews for new capabilities and major platform changes, identifying and mitigating architectural risks
• Produce comprehensive architecture documentation and support the architectural design of mission-critical systems

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive enterprise architecture experience
• Proven experience designing enterprise cloud-native architectures using microservices and Kubernetes in AWS
• Active Federal Civilian Public Trust clearance
• Strong knowledge of VA Enterprise Architecture standards and federal interoperability requirements
