Job Summary

Leading audience operations during evenings and weekends, the remote Senior Weekend and Evening Audience Editor will manage breaking news coverage, develop audience strategies for major events, and coordinate efforts across platforms to maximize engagement and reach.

Key responsibilities

• Directing evening and weekend audience operations and making real-time decisions for breaking news
• Crafting comprehensive audience plans for major news events and tentpole coverage
• Coordinating audience strategies with network editors and executing audience producer responsibilities across various distribution channels

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field preferred
• At least 5 years of newsroom experience in an audience development role at a digitally-focused media organization
• Demonstrated experience leading audience strategy for breaking news and major events with minimal supervision
• Solid understanding of metrics tools and experience with social media storytelling across various platforms
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and excel under deadline pressure
