Senior Automation Engineer

Job Summary

Leading automation initiatives, the contract Senior Automation Engineer specializing in Ansible will modernize infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency in a remote/onsite hybrid role based in Richmond, VA, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop advanced automation solutions for critical financial systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive innovation through automation, API development, and secure scripting practices within an Agile environment
• Develop and implement advanced automation solutions leveraging Ansible and Infrastructure as Code technologies
• Streamline workflows and enable self-service automation to support the organization's strategic vision

Required qualifications:

• Advanced experience with Ansible for complex enterprise environments
• 7+ years of automation and software development experience, including proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting
• Proficiency in REST API development using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
