Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

To support the scaling and optimization of client environments, the remote contract Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer will manage multi-account AWS structures, implement security measures, and leverage automation for efficient deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the account lifecycle within AWS Organizations, ensuring separation between production and non-production environments
• Refine and scale landing zones using Terraform/CloudFormation for automated environment setups and policy enforcement
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA by implementing least-privilege IAM, KMS encryption, and comprehensive audit logging

Required qualifications

• 5-10+ years in Cloud Engineering/DevOps, with 3-5+ years of hands-on production experience in AWS
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
• Strong expertise in AWS Organizations, SCPs, IAM, VPC networking, and Terraform/CloudFormation
• Deep understanding of healthcare data security and HIPAA requirements
• Experience in healthcare IT or regulated industries is a plus
