Senior AWS DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer for a remote contract position, responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to ensure applications are highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines and support containerized workloads while implementing observability and monitoring solutions
• Troubleshoot system performance and reliability issues, defining and maintaining SLAs and SLOs
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 5+ years in cloud engineering or DevOps
• Expertise in AWS core services and hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Strong development background in Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Proven ability to work autonomously and mentor team members in solving complex operational problems
