Senior Azure Data Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a skilled Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer for a long-term remote contract, this role will manage Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure Data Factory, ensuring data platform reliability and performance while taking ownership of data pipelines and database operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Azure SQL Managed Instance and databases, focusing on performance tuning and security management
• Design and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines, troubleshooting issues and ensuring operational supportability
• Take end-to-end ownership of data loading processes, coordinating across teams to ensure data integrity and availability

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in database administration, data engineering, or data platform operations
• Deep expertise in Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure Data Factory
• Strong skills in SQL query optimization and performance tuning
• Experience with Python and/or PowerShell scripting for automation
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps for managing code and deployments
