Senior Backend Developer

Job Summary

To support the development of a federated authentication and multi-entity vehicle management system, the remote Senior Backend Developer will design and implement core platform services, focusing on integrating Firebase-based identity restructuring and modernizing API layers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new domain entities and refactor existing schemas to support federated identity mapping
• Refactor REST APIs to enhance account-level, vehicle-level, and profile-level operations, while implementing cross-cutting concerns for improved authentication
• Integrate Firebase Authentication, transitioning to a federated identity model, and enforce access control across account and vehicle scopes

Required qualifications

• Strong experience in backend development using Java/Spring Boot or similar frameworks
• Proven expertise in REST API design, relational database design, schema migrations, and indexing
• Experience with authentication/authorization frameworks such as JWT and OAuth
• Familiarity with cloud-based identity providers and payment systems, including tokenization
• Strong system design and data modeling skills, with the ability to manage complex refactoring across multiple layers
