Senior Backend DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs' Joint Longitudinal Viewer program, the full-time Senior Backend DevOps Engineer will operate and optimize AWS ECS deployments, design CI/CD pipelines, and implement observability practices in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Operate and optimize Amazon ECS deployments for backend microservices, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery
• Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for containerized microservices while automating deployment processes
• Implement security controls and compliance measures aligned with FedRAMP High and VA standards

Required qualifications:

• Experience operating containerized microservices on AWS ECS
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Proficiency with AWS CLI and production cloud operations
• Knowledge of FedRAMP High, NIST 800-53, and FISMA compliance requirements
• Experience implementing observability solutions and incident response processes
