Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Payments Reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of core backend services for payments and billing workflows
• Establish engineering patterns for safe payment execution and build shared infrastructure and APIs
• Mentor engineers and participate in architectural reviews to guide best practices across teams

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of web development experience, with Python required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Strong experience with payment processors and distributed systems in production
• Deep understanding of backend reliability principles
• Knowledge of RESTful API principles and conventions
