Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Owning core improvements to exchange systems, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will work remotely to enhance the CLOB engine, focusing on low-latency APIs, high-throughput data streams, and settlement-aware order states.

Key responsibilities

• Own the CLOB engine's critical path, driving improvements to latency, throughput, and async engine flow
• Reduce lock contention while ensuring correctness and improve the system's capacity to handle increased market and order flow
• Build for observability and safety, establishing rollback guarantees and improving incident detection and resolution

Required qualifications

• Production experience building low-latency backend systems at scale
• Strong concurrency skills with a proven track record in debugging lock contention and race conditions
• Fluency in production Go and Rust programming languages
• Deep observability experience with tools such as pprof, metrics, logs, and distributed traces
• Experience with exchange systems that interact with EVM or blockchain settlement layers
