Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Applied AI team, the full-time remote position will design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems and data pipelines that integrate AI capabilities, ensuring high data quality and system reliability across FICO's platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable backend systems and data pipelines for applied AI integration
• Build solutions for data ingestion, transformation, and storage to support real-time analytics
• Lead and mentor engineering team members while promoting best practices in software development and AI integration

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in backend or data engineering with a track record of large-scale production systems
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark and Kafka
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
