Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As a founding member of the Users Infrastructure team in India, the full-time remote Senior Backend Engineer will architect security and identity systems, lead the transition to a modern IAM platform, and manage complex backend services for authentication and authorization.

Key responsibilities

• Own the core services for authenticating entities within the ecosystem, balancing scalability and session management
• Define and enforce fine-grained authorization strategies across a multi-tenant hierarchy
• Manage internal SDKs and middleware to facilitate security feature integration for over 150 engineers

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly with distributed systems in Go
• Deep understanding of AuthN/AuthZ primitives such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and JWT
• Proven ability in managing complex data migrations and building gRPC-based microservices
• Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to create Technical Design Documents
• Experience with a security mindset, particularly in Zero-Trust and Zanzibar-style authorization
