Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build and evolve services for an events management platform, this full-time remote position will focus on developing distributed systems and web infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable distributed systems and RESTful APIs
• Influence architecture decisions and maintain service level agreements (SLAs)
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative team environment

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer
• Expertise in at least one statically typed language and experience with Golang, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, or Java
• Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly Postgres
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and software testing methodologies
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and demonstrate ownership of projects
